New Recording - Symphony No. 1
I am so incredibly excited to share the world premiere performance of my Symphony No. 1 with everyone. This is my biggest piece, my most PERSONAL piece, and the culmination of over a whole year's worth of work.
I could not be more grateful to Dr. Trachsel for having faith in me and giving my music a chance to come to life, not to mention the absolutely phenomenal group of musicians who performed it - it all came together so brilliantly.
Thank you.
My grandmother would have absolutely loved it. We will play it for her every day!

This is my first real composition for orchestra, so I was a bit nervous to hear how it sounded live. To my surprise, the overall effect was tangible, and the orchestra loved playing it as well. New Recording - A La Bach
ICYMI:
The world premiere performance of my work, A LA BACH, performed by the Myriad Saxophone Quartet October 17th, 2023. The inspiration is drawn from the baroque styles of J.S. Bach and mimics the typical chorale/fugue forms used during his time. Through the composing process of this piece, I've grown fond of the fugue - so much to have continued following its foundational principles in my current writing!

Collaboration Announcement - A Child's Album
I'm so elated to be collaborating with legendary Texas-based pianist and UNT College of Music Alum, Dr. Xiao Wang, on a new work for solo piano, A CHILD'S ALBUM. Dedicated to my sister, her husband, and their new baby due this February, this collection of piano miniatures takes inspiration from similar works by Tchaikovsky, Brahms, and Amy Beach. I wanted to commemorate the next chapter of my sister and her husband's journey, and welcome their child into the world with the gift of music. At the very core, A CHILD'S ALBUM is a celebration of new life.

Project Announcement - Symphony No. 1
I am anxious and thrilled to announce my biggest project to date, SYMPHONY NO. 1, for Wind Ensemble. If you remember me being really excited for no apparent reason about two months ago - well, this was the reason. It's finally happening.
SYMPHONY NO. 1 is for my Grandmother Joyce, who is at war with dementia. it is a study and reflection on her condition and my family's relationship, a personal outpouring of emotion, and an exclamation of faith and acceptance. In other words, the most personal work I've attempted. I've pondered on the concept of this piece for, quite literally, years, but I'm finally ready to bring life to it and share it with the world.
SYMPHONY NO. 1 (2024)
I. Longing
II. Memories entangled
III. Joyce
IV. Roses and thorns
Coming Spring 2024.
